This course covers the fundamentals of analogue electronic circuits, from semiconductor devices to amplifiers and power supplies.
- Semiconductor devices: diodes, bipolar junction transistors (BJT), MOSFETs — characteristics, operating points, models.
- Amplifiers: single-stage amplifiers (CE, CB, CD), multi-stage amplifiers, frequency response, feedback.
- Operational amplifiers: ideal and real models, basic configurations (inverting, non-inverting, differential), filters, comparators.
- Power supplies: rectifiers, smoothing filters, linear regulators, switching power supplies.
- Oscillators: RC and LC oscillators, crystal oscillators, conditions for oscillation.
- Laboratory exercises: measuring device characteristics, building and testing analogue circuits.
Objectives
To understand the operation of basic analogue electronic circuits and to gain practical experience in their design and testing.
After successful completion, students will be able to:
- analyse the behaviour of semiconductor devices and their characteristics
- design a single-stage amplifier with required gain and frequency response
- use operational amplifiers in typical configurations
- design a simple linear power supply
- measure and evaluate the performance of analogue circuits
